Recently ChisBread, the creator of SuperChis, posted a short warning on Reddit. It turns out that buyers have started running into fake SuperChis cartridges.
And we are not talking about tiny differences that you can only spot under a microscope.
History repeats itself :) A very long time ago, Borden had the name of his cartridge “stolen.” He released EZF Advance, and then EZF Advance 2 and EZF Advance 3 appeared. They had nothing to do with Borden’s creation, and they were not even related to each other.
Fakes
But let’s get back to SuperChis. According to ChisBread, several fake variants have appeared on the market at once. And this is not just another attempt to pass off a dead horse as a sick one — in other words, to sell a SuperCard as a SuperChis.
The first variant is ordinary SuperCard SD cartridges with SuperChis stickers simply placed on them.

SuperCard with a SuperChis label
So the seller basically takes an old SuperCard cartridge, changes the sticker, and sells it as SuperChis. Obviously, that cartridge has nothing to do with a real SuperChis.
But then it gets even more interesting.
ChisBread writes that some sellers have started offering something supposedly called SuperChis v2.0. Yes, everything new is just something old that has been forgotten. Of course, ChisBread says that not only has he never released any SuperChis v2.0, he is not even sure that his next cartridge will be called SuperChis.
According to him, this may be some kind of attempt to copy SuperChis Prime, but even from the outside these cartridges raise questions. For example, one version has a small battery, and ChisBread doubts that this is a good solution.
After that, the creator clarified several important points directly.
1. There is only one version of SuperChis Prime — 1.0.
2. All cartridges sold as SuperChis v2.0 are fakes.
3. A real SuperChis must have the Designed by ChisBread marking.
4. A real SuperChis has a large battery installed.
5. On a real board, there is a special empty space above the microSD slot so the memory card cannot accidentally be inserted into the gap next to the connector.
ChisBread also wrote separately about sellers. As far as I understand, at the moment he is in proper contact only with ChisFamily. And if a SuperChis bought from ChisFamily has problems with quality or support, he is ready to deal with that.
But he does not yet have contact with other sellers.
At the end of the post, ChisBread addressed the people who make or sell these copies. He asked them at least to respect his signature and stop calling these cartridges SuperChis v2.0.
I understand ChisBread perfectly well: this really can mislead many people.
After all, it sounds good: SuperChis v2.0. As if this is not a fake, but a new version of a well-known cartridge. But according to the creator himself, no SuperChis v2.0 exists right now.
There is SuperChis Prime 1.0, there are cartridges marked Designed by ChisBread, and everything sold under the name SuperChis v2.0 is not a new version of SuperChis, but a cartridge that ChisBread himself has nothing to do with.
