How to tell PS Vita PCH-1000 from PCH-2000?
Friends, AliExpress now has:
Cool metal labels for Game Boy Advance consoles.
Cool eXtremeRate cases for GBA SP.
Friends, help me buy (if you have) various old stuff: Help me buy.
Although PS Vita was released in only three versions (not five like PSP), the differences between PCH-1000 and PCH-2000 aren't immediately obvious at first glance.
Of course, PS Vita TV stands out immediately - it's a completely separate console without a screen or buttons. Therefore, it makes sense to focus mainly on comparing the two portable models: 1000 and 2000.
Main Differences
There are several visual cues to easily distinguish between versions.
1. PS / Start / Select buttons
- On PS Vita 1000 they are oval.
- On PS Vita 2000 - round.
2. Sony logo
- On 1000 model - located above the D-pad.
- On 2000 model - above the screen.
3. Button recess
- On PS Vita 1000 the button block is slightly recessed - there's a shallow indentation around them.
- On PS Vita 2000 the front panel is completely flat - no recesses under buttons.
Rear and Side Differences
The main difference on the back panel is the PlayStation logo:
- PS Vita 1000 has no logo on the back panel at all.
- PS Vita 2000 has it right in the center of the touch panel.
Another characteristic detail - the metal frame around the perimeter of PS Vita 1000. It gives the console additional solidity, but it's hard to see in most internet photos because it's only visible from the side.
