AGBS Dragon Card (AGBS PRO + G)

AGBS Dragon Card (AGBS PRO + G)

Website: www.twdiy.idv.tw

This cartridge was developed by a person from Taiwan under the nickname MR. Lee.

It was sold for: 1850 yuan for the Flash cartridge + reader or 1000 yuan for the cartridge itself.

The reader was connected via the LPT port.

Here's what Mr. Lee said about his competitors: “As for the poor products made on the mainland, EZ and EZFA only support static SRAM, while others rely entirely on software to fake, i.e., PATCH ROM to complete SAVE. It's nothing, but the worst thing is that SAVE loses the player's hard progress for no reason.”

The Flash cartridge memory hardware supported the following 6 types:

4K EEPROM

64K EEPROM

256K BIT SRAM

512K BIT SRAM

512K FLASH ROM (39VF512)

1 MB FLASH ROM (M29L010)

Any C + Any U

This Flash cartridge is very interesting. It was developed by tangl_99.

The kit consists of the Any C cartridge itself and the Any U reader.

The first versions of this cartridge were connected via the LPT port directly to the Game Boy Advance. The second version, however, resembles a USB flash drive.

The Any U reader can be connected to a computer, games/programs can be written to it, after which it can be disconnected and connected to the port on the Game Boy Advance. Then, insert the Flash cartridge into the Game Boy Advance and rewrite the games from the reader to the cartridge.

This is not the usual system where the reader is inserted into the computer, and then the Game Boy Advance is connected to it for writing. Instead, it works autonomously.

Moreover, the Any U is almost a full-fledged Flash cartridge. It can run games on Multiboot directly on the Game Boy Advance.

Disk Card

Disk Card CF Card

I have never heard of this cartridge before. It was released for a very short period of time, and I have never seen this cartridge in online stores of that time.

Interestingly, it consisted of three parts:

1. CX-CARD (LPT reader for writing);

2. E-CARD (the purpose of this device is unknown);

3. CF-CARD (the actual flash cartridge).

At the same time, the CF-CARD and E-CARD had to be used together for both writing games to them and playing on the Game Boy Advance. However, the developer allowed the use of CF-CARD and CX-CARD without E-CARD.

According to some reports, the E-CARD was needed to save games (apparently, it had an SRAM chip) and, according to unverified data, it converted games (something like a hardware patch for the game?).

All photos were enlarged by a neural network and manually restored in places. So their quality is poor.

It is unclear whether Borden is related to this cartridge. Although his name is listed in the contacts on the website. But this cartridge is a bad clone of EZF Advance.

Now it is absolutely clear that this is the next development of Borden, and he changed the name because his name was stolen, or rather, a cartridge was released under the name EZF Advance II and even EZF Advance III, but they were not developed by Borden.

The only feature that distinguishes it for the better is the increased memory up to 1 gigabit. But at the same time, it is slow, has strange software. Although in general, as they say, this Flash cartridge copes with its duties (if you do not consider it as a continuation of EZF Advance, but as a separate cartridge).

Extreme Flash Advance I + II

Extreme Flash Advance I Extreme Flash Advance II

Website: efa.cc

This is a clone of X Carts products. Its fate is unknown.

Extreme Flash Advance is interesting primarily because it does not have a reader as such. It connects directly to the computer through this slot:

Extreme Flash Advance reader

The cartridges themselves are excellent, they have many functions, they support different types of saving. They have a function to exit the game.

At that time, they were distinguished by cosmic speed of writing games, and this was the time of LPT. They had good energy efficiency.

EFA II was recognized by the computer as a flash drive and files could be written directly to it.

But EFA II was probably unfinished. It is extremely interesting because it can work with the files recorded on it, that is, for example, rewrite a game from NAND memory to NOR memory. It had many functions built-in, but they do not work. For example, there are buttons for real-time saving, but again, it does not work. Why did this happen? There is no answer.

The Elink Flash cartridge appeared in 2007. And it was very late. It also, like EFA, was connected by a wire to the computer. At the same time, the first versions of the cartridge had their own connector, while later versions switched to the standard Mini USB.

This cartridge did not have any innovative functions (especially for a device released in 2007), but at the same time, according to reviewers, the cartridge was made of high-quality plastic, was cheap, and performed its functions well.

If you look at the reader of this cartridge, the first thing that comes to mind is the Ez Flash cartridge of the first series. But everything is not so simple, if the reader is really the same (according to the developer, they are interchangeable), then the cartridge is completely different.

It runs on OS EWIN, but in fact, it is a rework of Pogoshell. According to the developers, to play, view pictures, and read books, you do not need to patch anything. Just drop it and enjoy.
