Dummy Cartridge

Dummy Cartridge is a plug for the slot 1 of the Nintendo DS console.

PassMe had one big problem – it was extremely inconvenient. Therefore, when the custom firmware FlashMe appeared, many people started flashing their Nintendo DS to avoid using PassMe.

However, it was almost immediately discovered that without a cartridge inserted into slot 1, the Nintendo DS could not go into sleep mode:

This is exactly what Dummy cartridges were designed for – they allowed the Nintendo DS to go into sleep mode without issues.

However, any Nintendo DS cartridge would work for this purpose, and it was not necessary to buy such a "plug".
