And here is the new patch: Mig-Switch 1.2 now runs Switch 1 games on Switch 2

The developers of Mig-Switch (also known as Mig-Flash) have released patch version 1.2, which for the first time allows games from the original Nintendo Switch to run on the new Switch 2.

However, @SwitchTools, a known figure in the Switch hacking scene, reported that his console was banned after using Mig-Switch even with legal dumps of his own cartridges:

“My Switch 2 test has been banned, after using the mig switch with perfectly legal dumps of my own cartridges, so it would seem that Nintendo can detect something.”

He also added that similar reports have started appearing on Reddit:

@SwitchTools warns:

“I strongly recommend that you do not use the mig switch, it was already very risky to use but it is even more so on Switch 2.”

It is still unclear exactly how Nintendo detects games launched through Mig-Switch, but the risk is obvious.

If you care about your Switch 2, it is probably best to hold off for now.
