The Mig-Switch developers have updated the firmware for their flash cartridge

On July 1, 2025, the Mig-Switch team released firmware update Mig-Switch 1.2.1.

What's new in version 1.2.1:

• Behavior more closely matching that of an original game card;
• Improved support for the first hardware revision (Mig-Switch V1);
• Expanded compatibility with trimmed ROM files.

The developers gave special thanks to TotalJustice for helping improve the firmware.

To make the device behave as closely as possible to an original cartridge, the team carried out detailed comparisons between Mig-Switch and genuine game cards using a dedicated test rig across a variety of scenarios. The result: no behavioral differences were found. According to the developers, Mig-Switch with firmware 1.2.1 is now practically indistinguishable from a genuine game card.
